10 Tips To Sell Your Home In The Winter
- Take advantage of natural light. Since it get's dark earlier in the winter try to schedule showings during the daytime.
- Make sure walkways, sidewalks and driveways are clear. If your home is not clear of snow and ice buyers may decide not to venture in.
- As cold as it is outside, make sure it's warm and toasty inside. A roaring fireplace is always a good idea.
- Make sure your home is welcoming and inviting. Use extra outside lighting and timers for when you are not at home.
- Place scented candles throughout your home. A favorite is chocolate chip cookie, but not too many candles. Buyers may think you are trying to mask something unpleasant.
- Keep windows sparkling clean inside and out. The harsh winter elements can cause dull and dirty looking windows.
- Place booties inside your front door to make sure your home stays clean and neat at all times. Buyers will appreciate your pride of ownership and the care taken of your home.
- Soft background music creates a warm, cozy environment which buyers will enjoy.
- Holiday decorations should not be too overpowering. You want to make sure that they can see the beauty and elegance of your home.
- Neatness counts! Make sure your garage stays organized with all the winter tools neatly in place.

Local Farmers' Markets
It's that time of the year again (thankfully after a long winter) for the Farmers' Markets to start up in various local communities. These markets are a great opportunity to get fresh produce as well as other items from local vendors. Most of these events start the second week of June and go through to October or November. Here in Morris County these are some of the days and times for the following towns:
- East Hanover: Mondays 12 p.m. to 6 p.m; June 13-October 24
- Madison: Thursdays 2 p.m. 7 p.m; June 23-October 29
- Morristown: Sundays 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m; June 19-October 30
- Chatham: Saturdays 8 a.m. to 1 p.m; June 25-November 19
- Denville: Sundays 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m; June 19-October 20
Check with the local towns in case of any changes or cancellations. Not only can you purchase fresh vegetables but they also have cheeses, desserts, snacks, and various other food items. Stop by these markets and support your local farmers.

M.A.I.N. Morris Automated Information Network
The East Hanover Library is part of the M.A.I.N. Library Catalog Network. This is a linking of all source materials available in the combined catalog of 37 public libraries in Morris County in an automated online information network. M.A.I.N. can be accessed through any computer (even from your home computer).
Through M.A.I.N. you can browse or search the databases of the combined Morris County libraries and put a hold on, renew, or request your source material. The database is extensive and is easy to use. You can even select an item from any library in the M.A.I.N. and request it to be sent to your home library. I have used this service many times and it is easy to find materials and have it sent to your home library, returning it there when you are done.
M.A.I.N. is an easy way to access and receive library materials from the combined database of Morris County Libraries. To get started click here.

A Closer Broadway
For those of you who love the theater but hate the trip into New York City, the NJ Pac Center is a great alternative. It is a perfect way to see great Broadway shows that are close to home. And the shows are usually at a lower cost than the pricey New York shows. Right now Chorus Line is having its last four performances through May 1st. You may want to catch Beauty and the Beast - it runs June 22-26. What a great gift for a recent grad, Mother's Day, Father's Day or just for a fun day out! You can access it online or call 1-888-GO-NJPAC. Hope you get a chance to enjoy a great performance.
