Local Farmers' Markets
It's that time of the year again (thankfully after a long winter) for the Farmers' Markets to start up in various local communities. These markets are a great opportunity to get fresh produce as well as other items from local vendors. Most of these events start the second week of June and go through to October or November. Here in Morris County these are some of the days and times for the following towns:
- East Hanover: Mondays 12 p.m. to 6 p.m; June 13-October 24
- Madison: Thursdays 2 p.m. 7 p.m; June 23-October 29
- Morristown: Sundays 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m; June 19-October 30
- Chatham: Saturdays 8 a.m. to 1 p.m; June 25-November 19
- Denville: Sundays 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m; June 19-October 20
Check with the local towns in case of any changes or cancellations. Not only can you purchase fresh vegetables but they also have cheeses, desserts, snacks, and various other food items. Stop by these markets and support your local farmers.

A Day at the Museum
If you are looking for something new to do, the Morris Museum in Morristown may be a spot to try out. They have many events that interest all age groups. They have art displays, hands on events for children, theatrical events and many other interesting happenings at the museum. It is located at 6 Normandy Heights Road in Morristown (973) 971-3700. There is a fee but on Thursday evening from 5-8 it is free to everyone so that might be an ideal time to try it out. This would be a good opportunity to see if it is something to fill up a day this summer when the kids are bored and they say they have nothing to do! It's a great way to start your kids on museum culture yet you do not have to make that drive into NYC!
